LOVE BLOOD & RHINESTONES BOOK SIGNING

FRIDAY DEC 09

LOVE BLOOD & RHINESTONES BOOK SIGNING

Book signing for Love Blood & Rhinestones with author Bryant McLemore.

@ THE SILVER ROOM - 1506 EAST 53RD ST, CHICAGO, IL 60615, USA

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Brothers of ADODI … Join us for the Book Signing + Talk with author Bryant Mclemore-Smith.

In the newly released Love, Blood and Rhinestones, Chicago LGBTQ activist Bryant McLemore Smith takes the collective voices of African American men and women in the LGBTQ community who’ve suffered same-sex abuse but ultimately triumphed in their quest to live authentic, shame-free lives.
In 26 chapters, Love, Blood, and Rhinestones tell the intimate and painful but honest stories of McLemore Smith and others who were caught in a storm for the fight of their lives. The book brings to the surface messages that are traditionally unheard, ignored and otherwise sidelined.
Raw scenes in an emergency room, dialogue that is both disturbing and illuminating, and feelings excavated from the deepest—and darkest—places all contribute to the book’s accessibility and the power to teach.
Asked about the name on the book’s cover, McLemore Smith offers a sobering explanation. ‘D. Lynn Baldwin’ is really a composite of people, including me, who want to share our experiences in story form,” he said. “The format as well as the collective voices is for many readers a more palatable and informative way to convey what has been a very taboo subject for way too long.”
About Bryant Mclemore-Smith:
"Where The Truth Comes Out"
Bryant McLemore Smith is a Chicago-based writer, costume designer for both theatre and film, actor and entrepreneur. His work for the stage has appeared in productions such as Bronzeville the Musical, Stompin at the Savoy, and A Chance in the World. Movies include The House of the Witchdoctor, Bahama Hustle, Love Relations and others. He has been a casting assistant for Barbershop II, Spiderman, Proof, and Roll Bounce. One of Bryant’s greatest career achievements was the Love & Life World Tour USA and Japan with Mary J. Blige. Bryant also is the owner of McLemore’s Closet, a 1930s and 1970s vintage clothing store in Chicago.

Enhancing The Six Principles of Adodi: A Community Discussion of the Five A's!

To the Adodi Nation.

"I am excited to announce an upcoming Adodi event:

Enhancing The Six Principles of Adodi: A Community

Discussion of the Five A's! SAT, NOV 19, 2022, 12-2122 PM EST.

"Since 1995, The Six Principles of Adodi have been a guiding force in affirming who we are as Adodi Brothers and how we interact with one another. As you know and continue to experience, The Six Principles of Adodi—Spiritually Guided; Honesty, Openness, and Clarity; Sensitivity to Feelings; Carefronting; Resolution; and The Five A's—are traditionally read aloud during Adodi National and Adodi Chapter meetings and events.

However, unlike the first Five Principles, the Five A's—Acknowledge, Appreciate, Affirm, Accept, and Aché—are not currently defined.

After much reflection, Ado Dr. Jonathan P. Edwards and Ado Steven Latture concluded that defining The Five A's could further enhance Adodi's understanding and application of the Five A’s and the overall practice of The Six Principles of Adodi.

As a result, they have planned a virtual event, Enhancing The Six Principles of Adodi: A Community Discussion of the Five A's. This discussion will include a brief background on The Six Principles in their entirety. However, the focus will be on The Five A’s and how we apply them.

I hope you will join us for this virtual event on

Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 12 -2 PM EST.

Sincerely, Ado (Dr.) Kahan Sablo, National Facilitator
